Cardinal Roofing started the way a lot of good businesses do — two guys who got tired of watching other companies cut corners. Andy and Ben grew up along the Wasatch Front, learned roofing from the ground up, and after 30+ years in the trade, decided to build something they could stand behind. We roof homes and businesses across Utah and into Idaho, and we do it with our own hands. We know what heavy snow, freeze-thaw cycles, and high-altitude UV do to a roof, because we’ve been fixing those problems our whole careers. Why We Started Cardinal

We Saw an Industry That Needed Fixing

Andy and Ben didn’t start Cardinal Roofing because they thought the world needed another roofing company. They started it because they were tired of what the industry had become. After spending 30+ years working on Utah roofs, they watched the same pattern play out over and over: private equity firms buying up local contractors, cutting crews, using cheaper materials, and turning roofing into a volume game where homeowners are just ticket numbers.

Then there are the storm chasers — out-of-state crews that show up after every hailstorm, knock on doors, collect insurance checks, and disappear before the first winter tests their work. They leave homeowners stuck with leaking roofs and no one to call back.

Cardinal is the opposite of all that. Andy and Ben live here. Their families live here. They built this company to do roofing the way it should be done — honest estimates, quality materials, and the owners personally on the job site making sure it’s right. Not because it’s a business strategy, but because it’s the only way they know how to work.
